It's the dog days, for sure. It's been a long hot and dry spell and this summer is just more of that. I miss luscious fields of wildflowers in the spring, rivers so full that you can swim, and that smell of the desert after a monsoon. We didn't get any of that this year, and predictions are pretty dim for this winter. Our world is changing and I guess the only thing I can do is adapt.
We planted a couple new trees to provide shade and good ol' oxygen. We cleared some of the deadwood around our cabin. We drive an EV and we ride our bikes more frequently for errands. Oh, and probably the biggest thing I could do I've been doing for years. We're vegan (and let me tell you, I was not prepared for how quickly non-vegans get agitated about vegans, but that's another story).
Lastly, I'm posting a picture from a beautiful snowy adventure a couple of years ago. That should cool things down just a bit.
